Art & Sculpture

We have been working with local artists, iwi, hapū and commercial operators for several years in the art and sculpture space and have become a highly trusted brand.

Our portfolio extends from directly working with individual artists, to working with central government agencies, local government and civil works contractors on artwork as part of national roading projects.

We work hard to understand and interpret an artist’s vison, often working only from a sketch, and then translate this into commercially viable and fit-for-purpose public art works of significance.

As a full-service engineering company, we pride ourselves on our comprehensive capabilities, all under one roof. From conceptualisation to realisation, we offer a complete suite of design and engineering services tailored to the unique needs of your art and sculpture projects.

We have an in-house profile centre, equipped with cutting-edge technology for precision cutting and folding. This allows us to bring your artistic visions to life with unparalleled accuracy and attention to detail.

Whether you’re an artist seeking to push the boundaries of your craft or a curator in need of expert engineering solutions or advice, we’re here to collaborate, innovate, and deliver excellence every step of the way.

Our Journey in the arts and sculpture space

Our first cultural sculpture project was a pou conceived by Inia te Wiata, head carver to Kīngi Tūheitia, and fabricated for Tainui Group Holdings, to stand at the entrance to Te Awa at the Base shopping precinct in Hamilton.

Due to cultural significance and intricacy of the head of the pou, this part was gifted by the Roa whānau through the connection to Tainui. This was the start of an entire new division within Longveld.

Wairua
our binding spirit

Longveld is a proudly Amotai-registered business. Longveld is 100% owned by the Roa whānau who whakapapa through Ngāti Maniapoto to the Tainui waka.

wairua & mauri |
life force & spirit

The mauri, or life force, and wairua, or spirit, is felt and embraced by both our team members who craft them and the collaborators we work alongside. These works have deeply imprinted a connection to our wider community.

Beyond just the physical forms we create, there’s a deeper connection. We pour our hearts into crafting each piece and when we hand over these works to the artist it’s not just a physical exchange but a symbolic passing of creative essence.

Our portfolio includes pieces by renowned New Zealand artists Fred Graham , Brett Graham, and Eugene Kara.

Boon arts

Longveld is a proud sponsor of the Boon Arts Sculpture Trail, gifting mechanical engineering and design services, as well as being involved in several builds.
